GAIAXPACE project proposal getting shape to be part of the Finnish GAIA-X actions
Trustworthy Internet is being shaped by GAIA-X in Europe. Its two promises are:
- Companies can have data and operational sovereignty in digitalising environment by knowing where, by who, under what legislation their digital data is stored, transmitted and processed.
- Companies can create digital value co-creation networks by sharing their data and services through sovereignty-preserving trustworthy Internet. Owners’ rights and ownership is respected. Confidential information can be safely used with partners.
GAIA-X will start to implement these promises. It will change how digital operations can be set up and exploited. It will enable agile forming of value networks around data. It will open opportunities for data-driven automation, optimisation and business planning never seen before.
GAIAXPACE is a VTT-led Business Finland co-innovation proposal that will combine frontrunner Finnish companies from several sectors to join to the development and adoption of GAIA-X technology. GAIAXPACE will extend the GAIA-X Hub Finland in two ways: Technical work that builds on the GAIA-X project in Europe, and practical work supporting the exploitation of new business opportunities in Finland.
GAIAXPACE project will have two main targets:
- To provide a pilot environment by creating reference implementations of GAIA-X federation services, to support the evolution of GAIA-X with targeted research, and to support the development of proof of concepts and pilots for business use cases.
- To explore the opportunities of data economy and data-driven value co-creation in various business sectors in Finland. GAIAXPACE has so far use cases from agrifood sector, smart cities, mobility, circular economy, for example, where stakeholder plan and pilot together. At the same time, project partners will prepare for the business disruption that is inevitably coming.
GAIAXPACE has been planned together with the GAIA-X Hub. The aim is to go together towards European R&D work – to go beyond obvious.
